The current Minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Nyesom Wike has downplayed the candidacy of Labour Party’s Obi at the last concluded 2023 Elections.
Wike was a guest on Channels TV where he was discussing with the anchor, Seun Okinbaloye, and said Nigerians do not believe in Peter Obi hence why he failed to be elected as President.

The quote was in response to a question on whether Obi would have handled the major issues confronting the Nigerian economy better than Tinubu if he had been elected,
The immediate past Governor of Rivers State said he doesn’t discuss presidential candidates any longer.
“I don’t want to discuss social media issue. I don’t discuss about presidential candidate any longer; I discuss about the economy, the President, what he has to offer.”
When asked if he believe in the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Wike responded thus:
It’s more than believe, he has the capacity. Just give him support, pray for him.
