The lawmaker representing the good people of Badagry Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Solomon Saanu Bonu, has called for the need for BRT buses to be deployed to the Badagry axis of the state.
According to Bonu, this is to make commuters enjoy the palliative by the Lagos State Government to ameliorate the effects of the hike in transportation, occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy.
With this, the former lecturer is once again proving to be a dedicated representative for the people of Badagry Constituency 1.
While championing the cause, he raised the crucial observation during a plenary on Thursday 3rd August 2023 on the floor of the State House of Assembly highlighting the urgent need for the deployment of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses to the Badagry axis.
Recall that the transportation system in Badagry has long been a concern for its residents, with inadequate and unreliable public transportation options causing inconvenience and hardship for commuters. Also, the recent hike in transportation costs has not only exacerbated the situation, burdening the already-struggling populace with additional financial strains.
Hon. Solomon Saanu Bonu’s call for BRT buses to be introduced in the axis is a significant step towards alleviating the plight of the local commuters.
