The price of premium motor spirit popularly known as petrol has increased to at least ₦617 per litre by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
How The News On Petroleum Increase Was Confirmed
According to a report on Daily Trust was confirmed upon a visit to an NNPC Filling Station in the Central Area of Abuja.

The news platform who had her reporter in the area noticed that the fuel price has now been adjusted from ₦539 to ₦617 per litre.
This news was also confirmed by a customer to Daily Trust saying “It is true, I just bought at ₦617 per liter,”
Why NNPC Increased The Price of Petroleum
What necessitated the hike cannot be confirmed at the moment but it is not unconnected to the recent projections by oil marketers that fuel price will hit ₦700 per litre soon.
The Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NDMPRA) is yet to comment to Daily Trust enquiry as at the time of filling this report.
