The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has cancelled the planned strike action which is scheduled to hold, Wednesday 29th March over the scarcity of the naira nationwide.
Recall that the Union had also promised to shut that CBN branches to drive home their message.
NewStori reports that the decision was made after the NLC ended their National Executive Council meeting on Tuesday.
The national president of the union, Joe Ajaero who gave reasons why the action is necessary said the Federal Government and the CBN had failed to show any commitment to addressing the situation.
Sequel to the announcement, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said that the FG had started a conciliatory move with the NLC.
The Minister had invited the NLC leadership and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to a meeting on Monday to resolve the issue.
