WILSON ORUMA
He was the former Super Eagles Midfielder for 6years. It was reported that he had mental disorder after being defrauded by a fake pastor.

Wilson captained the Nigerian U-17 team to win the 1993 World cup in Japan. He played for some other clubs and was at a time declared as one of the richest player at a time. He also played alongside with Jay Jay Okocha.
Oruma is currently regaining his mental stability but has been struggling to overcome the financial challenges after he was defrauded.
MOHAMMED YUSUF
He was always in the starting eleven with the Supper Eagles and even regarded as one of the best centre back in Europe, Asia and North America.
However the great defender suffered a serious injury in the 2010 African Nations Cup and he has been said to be rehabilitating.

There are unconfirmed reports that Mohammed Yusuf is currently based in Kano and has used most of his money on his treatment and has been abandoned by the authorities.
IFEANYI UDEZE
Ifeanyi Udeze was another Super Eagles’ left-back who was a key member of the national team between 2000 and 2004
Sadly, his fortune took went down as sources close to him revealed that Ifeanyi is deep in debt after squandering the substantial fortune he gained on high stake gambling and other luxuries and expensive lifestyle in Europe.

Ifeanyi also featured for West Brom while active in his football career and he can also be seen indulging in street gambling around the neighborhood he grew up which is the ghetto area of Ajegunle in Lagos.
CELESTINE BABAYARO
He was among the Super Eagles squad that won the 1996 Olympics for the country.

He played for some of the biggest clubs and was amongst the highest paid African players in the world as he earned between £25,000 and $30,000 per week at Chelsea FC during his playing time.
He declared himself bankrupt at a court in Croydon in 2010 after being charged by creditors he was reported to have lived an expensive lifestyle in Nigeria and England.
Stories were told on how he blew thousands of pounds in buying exotic items and he also partied hard with women.
FEMI OPABUMI
Femi was a former Super Eagles player who was at the epicentre of most of Nigeria’s International games and also earned a silver boot for the second-highest goal scorer in the 2001 UEFA championship, which also earned him the 3rd best player of the tournament.

He has since retired from the game after he lost one of his eyes playing football. At the moment, he is currently based in Ibadan with his family.
ETIM ESIN
He was one of the richest African players in his active days. He was renowned to have driven two customized cars built to his taste.

On visits to Nigeria, from his club in Europe, he retained a permanent suite at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
But when he went bankrupt, one of his customised BMW cars was seized by the hotel as he was unable to pay his bills. Later on, he was seen around national team camps moving from one room to the other after Super Eagles matches, and allegedly requesting for financial assistance
