Popular Nollywood actress, Iniobong Edo Ekim also known as Ini Edo, has revealed why she opted for surrogacy in order for her to have her own child.
The Nollywood veteran had an interview with Chude on his podcast on Saturday, June 24, 2023 and explained several circumstances that led her to the decision.

Ini noted that she had experienced multiple miscarriages when she tried to have her own babies and she got tired.
She further explained that she is driven by the passion to raise a child with or without a husband.
In her words, I wanted it to be my child, my egg, so thankfully my eggs are good, so I did that.
Sometimes in 2021 during an interview with a popular blogger, Stella Dimoko Korkus, she also explained that she made this decision to avoid any father/mother conflict that may arise in future.
Another major reason I opted for a donor is that it scares me so much when I see banter and controversies between a mother and a father over a baby in public forums or when I see the man insisting he wants his child if things don’t work out between both parties.
Who Is Ini Edo Daughter and What Is She Like?
In 2021, Ini had her daughter she named Light and her identity was unknown until recently.
When the child turned two, her face was first seen in the public in March 2023 and Ini had said her child will live a private life.
Ini Edo’s First Marriage
She had previously married an American businessman named Philip Ehiagwina in November 2008.
The marriage lasted five years and the couple divorced in 2014 due to irreconcilable differences.
Ini Edo Explains Her Plans For More Children and Motherhood Experience
On her motherhood experience, Ini noted that it is a joy that she looked forward to and seeing her daughter gives her joy always.
On her having more children, she further said that she still has some of her eggs frozen in case she decided to go through surrogacy again.
