The widely anticipated and publicised app update from one of Nigeria leading banks, Guaranteed Trust Bank (GTBank), has suffered setback.
NewStori can confirm that all users of the bank are now left stranded since July 13th when the new update from the bank locked them out.

To conform with latest trends and set itself apart from others, the bank had announced that all users will no longer be able to access the former apps.
A publication from the bank had advised users to update their app from the apps store or would be automatically updated.
GT World is the latest app pushed to the respective apps store but the new update has locked users out with no one able to access their accounts using the platform.
GTBank Response to the Latest App Update
While noting that the issue is on the lips of their customers, GTB has written to apologise to users hence asking them to switch to the web version or using USSD to transact.
The statement from the bank read thus:
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please be informed that we are aware of the downtime, and this is receiving attention and resolution is ongoing.
Please bear with us as the updated platforms will be up and running in no time.
Kindly use the internet banking or the USSD platform to initiate your transaction.”
