Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth, has debunked news that he is friend with his industry colleague, AY Makun.
Basketmouth said he has never been friends neither has he ever had any close or personal relationship with AY.
How The Gist Started
In March 2023, Ayo Makun, popularly called, AY had opened up about his long-time beef with his colleague, Basket Mouth.
While speaking in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, AY revealed how Basketmouth used to connect him with events when he was starting out in the industry.
He further explained how a particular event sparked the rift which led to them parting ways and this was over a sum of ₦30,000 not paid to him.
Basketmouth’s Reaction with Nedu Wazobia
During a podcast session with Nedu Wazobia on ‘The Honest Bunch’ shared on social media on Monday, Basketmouth denied that they have ever been friends and that’s the reason he wasn’t invited at his wedding.
He further compared AY to a snake that can never change, but instead sheds its skin to grow larger snakes.
“90 percent of all he said are lies, in fact I’m still in shock and all my friends are laughing at me because they warned me to be careful of him.
“AY is not my friend and I didn’t invite him or his wife to my wedding. I have never visited him or invited him to my house and you will never find a picture us standing together on social media.”
