A UK-based Nigerian YouTuber identified as Emdee Tiamiyu who was interviewed by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has been attacked by social media commentators over his revelation to the news outlet.
Tiamiyu informed the British authorities that some individuals from Nigeria immigrating to the UK on student visas do not intend to pursue education rather to japa – a term used to described how Nigerians immigrate to the UK or abroad.

He is a graduate of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) and gained entry to the UK via the study route as well.
Emdee Tiamiyu’s date of birth is December 19th but his year is unknown at the moment.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he studied at Wesley College of Science (WESCOS), Elekuro Ibadan, where he had his Senior Secondary Certificate in 2006 before proceeding to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology from 2007 to 2012 for a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering.
It is further revealed that he attended Arizona State University in 2016 for a Public Management degree before completing a master’s degree at Vistula University in Management (Project, Business, IT) in 2022.
On Tiamiyu’s LinkedIn Profile, he describes himself as an Experienced IT consultant, Oracle Certified Professional Database Administrator (OCPDBA), ITIL certified service manager and PRINCE2 certified Practitioner with a background in Computer Science and proven track record in delivering multi-million-pound projects for both public and private sector clients.
Emdee is also a YouTuber who specialises in helping Nigerians relocate to the United Kingdom. He disclosed that Nigerians migrate to the UK using schooling as a ploy to gain entry into the country.
