A former Senator of Kogi West Senatorial district, Dino Melaye, has been declared the winner of the 2023 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial Primaries in Kogi State.
Melaye is the spokesman of the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign council at the 2023 General Elections.

Melaye scored 313 votes against Idoko Ilonah’s 124 votes.
Others who participated in the Primaries included Awoniyi Sunday who polled 77 votes and Musa Wada, who garnered 56 votes.
How Many People Contested the PDP Primaries
A total of 27 individuals were noted to have picked up the Expression of Interest forms to contest in the primary elections.
A former deputy governor of the state Yomi Awoniyi and former senator Attai Aidoko also took part in the Primaries.
Others who contested included Kebiru Usman, Abdullahi Haruna, Zakaria Alfa, Musa Wada, Bolu Femi, and Idoko Idah.
Sequel to Melaye’s emergence, news had filtered in that while the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, was supporting him, Idah was the choice of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
