Less than 48 hours after the news that the Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been sacked, concerned persons have denied the claim.
What Had Transpired
NewStori had reported the news wherewith the ward E Chairman in Badagry, Jamiu Boglo, had announced the suspension of the State Chairman, Philip Aivoji and his Deputy.
On Saturday, alongside the secretary, Homakon Mautin, and other members of the ward executive council, the Ward Chairman addressed pressmen denying the news.
Boglo affirmed that the statement is false and the signatures forged hence warned the persons behind it to back down as that could be seen as criminal.
The earlier statement had accused the state chairman, Philip Aivoji of working with the opposition party at the March General Elections leading to the party’s failure at the polls and also not paying his dues as enshrined in the party’s constitution.
What The Ward Chairman and Secretary Addressed at the Press Conference
The press report published on The Punch Online sighted by NewStori reads:
“Our attention has been drawn to a malicious and false letter purportedly from the executive council members of Ward E, Keta-West, Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State, suspending the party’s state chairman, Honourable Philip Olabode Aivoji, and we were surprised to read such a letter in the media.
“We the incumbent and the authentic Ward E exco members of Keta-West, Badagry Local Government Area, whose names appeared on the said letter of suspension, but whose signatures were forged, hereby unequivocally refute signing of any letter of suspension.”
What The PDP Want The Police and DSS To Do
While noting that their signatures were forged in the earlier publication announcing the suspension of the Chairman, Boglo want the security personnels, police and DSS to unmask the perpetrators and bring them to the fore because it is a criminal matter.
